Welcome to XINT, a computer software program for interpreting cardiopulmonary exercise tests (CPET’s)

INSTRUCTIONS:


In order to run the interpretation program, XINT, you must download the program and the programming language onto your computer. Both are provided free in accordance with the terms of their licensing agreements. XINT was created by Robert M. Ross M.D..


WINDOWS USERS


TO DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAMS PROCEED AS FOLLOWS:


- Download the zip file CPX.zip (XINT) to the desktop. If you cannot handle zip files, you may download each file separately as described at the bottom of this page.

- You have now downloaded the required files to run XINT.

- Extract the two files on your desktop by double-clicking on them. XINT is now ready to run.


RUNNING THE PROGRAM (XINT) IN WINDOWS:


To run XINT go to the CPX folder and double click on “cpx.tcl” (or it may just show cpx without an extension). The program will then open.

INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO USE THE PROGRAM AND THE LICENSING AGREEMENT ARE AVAILABLE UNDER “ABOUT” AT THE TOP LEFT.

The ATS/ACCP cardiopulmonary examples (ATS/ACCP Statement on cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Am J Respir Crit Care Med. 2003 Jan 15; 167(2):211-77) can be found by pressing “load”, then highlight the case example and double click on it. The data will now be in the entry screen.

To print out a report, press, “Report”. NOTE: The data must be on the entry screen to print a report. You may need to manually open the “CPXRPT.TXT” file located in the CPX folder with a text editor to view your report. When finished with a report close it and you will go back to the program.

MAC OS X USERS


TO DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAMS PROCEED AS FOLLOWS:


- Download Active Tcl for Mac to the desktop.

- Download the zip file CPXmac.zip (XINT) to the desktop.

- You have now downloaded the required files to run XINT.

- Double Click on the downloaded file to run the Tcl installer.

- Double click on the downloaded CPXmac.zip to unzip the archive.

- XINT is now ready to run.


RUNNING THE PROGRAM (XINT) IN OS X:


- Open the CPXmac folder on your desktop.


- Double click on the application XINT_MACOS to start XINT.

Software for apportionment of Asbestos-related Mesotheliomas:


"Software for apportionment of Asbestos-related Mesotheliomas" is also available. This Software, is downloadable and fully functional in a Windows® environment. The software allows for rapid assessment of the relative contribution of an asbestos containing product or a facility where there was asbestos exposure in the development of an individual’s asbestos-related mesothelioma. After entering the required values, the software will compute apportionment and provide an appropriate print out.
